Download Twitter/X Videos Without an Account or Login

By The xfetchy team · June 1, 2026 · 4 min read

One of the quieter advantages of a browser-based downloader: you don't need an X account, an API key, or any login at all. Public posts are public — any tool that reads public media doesn't need your credentials.

No account required for public posts

If a post is visible to anyone on the internet — not behind a login, not from a protected account — xfetchy can download it without you being signed in to anything. Paste the link, fetch, download. No sign-up, no trial, no subscription.

The one exception: age-gated content

X now hides some sensitive or age-restricted content behind a login requirement. Since xfetchy reads what the public web serves, it can't access content X has locked behind a login. This is the only scenario where a logged-out download won't work.

Why no-login is better for privacy

When a downloader asks for your X credentials, think hard about what you're handing over. Your login gives an app access to your account, your DMs, and sometimes permission to post on your behalf. A tool that reads public media doesn't need any of that — and you shouldn't give it.

You also don't need an xfetchy account

We don't have user accounts. There's no sign-up form, no email required. You open xfetchy, paste a link, and download. See our Privacy Policy for the full details on what we collect.

Paste any public X post link into xfetchy — no account needed. If a download fails, check why won't my Twitter video download.

We build xfetchy, a free, no-login Twitter/X video downloader, and spend our days working with X's media formats — so these guides come from hands-on experience, not guesswork.
