How to Download Twitter/X Videos on Android

Free · Updated May 2026

Android handles downloads the way you would expect: tap a download link and the file lands in your Downloads folder, ready to open in Gallery or Files. That makes saving a Twitter or X video on Android quick and painless — no app required.

Follow these steps in Chrome or any modern Android browser.

  1. 1Open the X app or browser, find the video post.
  2. 2Tap Share → Copy Link.
  3. 3Open xfetchy.com in Chrome — paste the link.
  4. 4Tap Fetch, choose your quality, then Download.
  5. 5Android saves the file to your Downloads folder automatically.

Where the file lands on Android

Browser downloads go to the internal Download folder (`/storage/emulated/0/Download`), which you can open from the Files or My Files app. Your gallery app — Google Photos, Samsung Gallery, or the stock one — scans that folder through Android's MediaStore index and usually surfaces the clip within a few seconds. On some phones the saved video shows up in a separate Downloads album rather than alongside your camera photos, which is normal.

If your Gallery doesn't show the video

Since Android 11 introduced scoped storage, gallery apps can be slow to re-index new files. If a clip isn't appearing, open Files → Download and play it from there, or move it into the DCIM/Camera folder, which every gallery app scans first. A quick reboot also forces Android to re-scan media and pick up anything it missed.

Browser and manufacturer notes

  • Samsung Internet asks where to save on your first download — choose the Download folder and tick *remember this*.
  • Chrome shows finished files in the downloads shade; tap the notification to open the video instantly.
  • Data Saver or aggressive battery modes can throttle a download — disable them for your browser if a save stalls partway.
